Today, new medicines are being invented every day.Yet the number of diseases are increasing instead of decreasing. As doctors and hospitals are increasing, so are the diseases. Every year, countless people are receiving premature death due to diseases while taking medicines. This proves that medicines have failed to keep the mankind healthy.

If true health would have met with medicines, no doctor, chemist, physician or any person in his family would have fallen ill. Therefore, health is not obtained from injections, instruments, huge buildings of hospitals and degrees of doctors, but from ‘Health Sadhna’ or ‘health practice’.

‘Health Sadhna’ can be done by #holistic health management. Not only physical, mental and social health but spiritual health should also be practiced. ‘Health Sadhna’ is an essential requirement in today’s context. Self-contained life and following rules of holistic health is ‘Health Sadhna’. The source of health is within us and that is bliss. On the other hand, ignorance is the root cause of all diseases and this is sadness. The vitality within us is the root cause of our health. Lack of wisdom is the cause of sorrow and disease. If our vitality or life force is good, then we can remain disease free. If it is weak then diseases attack and death comes when the life force is exhausted. The following are the means of ‘Health Sadhna’:

  • Practice of physical labour:

Yoga, running, swimming, exercises etc. make our body firm and strong, it should be practiced daily.

 

  • Avoid wrong eating:

We should eat according to the nature of our body. Vata-pitta-kapha determines the nature of our body. One should eat such foods which maintain balance in them. One should follow its conscience instead of taste.

 

  • Certitude:

You should nurture yourself with positive thoughts, talk to yourself and say to yourself again and again:

                  1. “I am healthy”
                  2. “I am happy”
                  3. “I am beautiful”
  • Practice of Prayer:

Daily routine of prayer keeps mind in peaceful state. Gradually spiritual strength increases and helps to get rid of sorrows.
